Shriya Perumal

President

Shriya is a junior at California High School. She’s taken many classes related to the biomedical sciences and one day, would like to pursue a career in the field of medicine. She is a Vice President at JustMed, volunteers at the Stanford Blood Center and has recently started interning at ThinkNeuro. She founded Maitri to help bring awareness to autoimmune disease and support all the people currently suffering from these diseases.

Avani Rao

Vice President

Avani Rao is a junior from Irvington High School. She loves biology and science in general and wants to use her interests to help people. She hopes to make a difference for the many, many people in the world impacted by autoimmune diseases.

Ananya Arun

Vice President

Ananya Arun is a junior in the Bay Area who’s passionate about raising awareness for autoimmune conditions. She doesn’t have any aspirations in the medical field but hopes to learn what she can and help as many people as possible.

Aathirai Arunkumar

Infographic Designer

Aathirai Arunkumar is a sophomore at California High School who has interests in science, math, and music. She is a volunteer in the Biotech Lab at Lawrence Hall of Science which is a place that spreads scientific ideas to the younger generations. Aathirai joined this organization in order to support a cause that addresses a severe problem that a large quantity of people face in their daily lives.  

Simran Parise

Social Media Director

Simran Parise is a junior at Irvington High School who is passionate about using creativity as a force for change. She is a graphic designer for the activism nonprofit, Redefine Z, and the American Heart Association Club at her school. Simran joined Maitri as health and immunity are two topics that she has been interested in both spreading awareness for and learning more about. She hopes to be a worthy advocate for the importance of autoimmune diseases since it is a subject that many people brush over.
